SUMMARY:Luke DuBois - Sex\, Lies\, and Data Mining
DESCRIPTION:Room 101\, Prentis Hall \nLuke DuBois\, New York University \nStemming from his investigations of “time-lapse phonography\,” Luke DuBois‘ work is a sonic and encyclopedic relative to time-lapse photography. Just as a long camera exposure fuses motion into a single image\, his projects reveal the average sonority\, visual language\, and vocabulary in music\, film\, text\, or cultural information. \nFree and open to the public; for more details\, please visit the website. \nLuke DuBois is Co-Director and Associate Professor of Integrated Digital Media at NYU. He had a survey exhibition\, “R. Luke DuBois – Now\,” at the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota\, Florida. He holds a DMA in Composition from Columbia University. You can find out more about his work at his website. \nSponsored by the Collaboratory Fellows Fund. \nThis Artists Using Data series was conceived and curated by Miya Masaoka\, Sound Art MFA\, School of the Arts.
