Isabella Aboderin – Understanding Later Life Adversity and Resilience in Low Resource Urban Settings in Nairobi

Dr. Isabella Aboderin is a Senior Research Scientist and Head of the Program on Aging and Development at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) in Nairobi, Kenya, and Associate Professor of Gerontology, Centre for Research on Ageing, University of Southampton, UK. She serves as Regional Chair for Africa of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG). Her research and policy engagement interests focus on core development goals in Africa with respect to older persons’ social and economic roles, intergenerational relationships, and age-based inequalities. Dr. Aboderin holds a PhD from the School for Policy Studies from the University of Bristol.
