SUMMARY:Insuetude: Conversations in Technological Discard and Archaeological Recuperation
DESCRIPTION:This conference brings together theorists of media technologies with researchers trained in the traditional methods of archaeology. It is the goal of this conference to explore what the discipline of archaeology – the field that studies how objects mediate our relationship to the past – might offer a media archaeology.  Equally\, the conference seeks to stimulate new ways of thinking about the archaeological past and novel methods for doing so through the engagement of archaeologists with media theorists. \nSpeakers include: \nZoe Crossland\, Associate Professor of Anthropology\, Columbia University \nWolfgang Ernst\, Professor of Media Theories\, Humboldt University Berlin \nSeverin Fowles\, Associate Professor of Anthropology\, Barnard College \nGarnet Hertz\, Canada Research Chair in Design and Media Arts and Associate Professor\, Emily Carr University of Art + Design \nSteven J.
