DESCRIPTION:Room 101\, Prentis Hall \nGene Kogan\, artist and programmer \nIn this talk\, Kogan reviews the evolving application of machine learning to computational and new media art\, with an emphasis on audio\, demonstrating how new approaches to software can augment and counterpoint the normal compositional process. \nFree and open to the public; for more details\, please visit the website. \nGene Kogan is an artist and a programmer who is interested in generative systems\, computer science\, and software for creativity and self-expression. He is a collaborator within numerous open-source software projects\, and gives workshops and lectures on topics at the intersection of code and art. Gene initiated ml4a\, a free book about machine learning for artists\, activists\, and citizen scientists\, and regularly publishes video lectures\, writings\, and tutorials to facilitate a greater public understanding of the subject. \nSponsored by the Collaboratory Fellows Fund. \nThis Artists Using Data series was conceived and curated by Miya Masaoka\, Sound Art MFA\, School of the Arts.
