SUMMARY:Chris Stover - Time\, Territorialization\, and Improvisational Spaces
DESCRIPTION:The Comparing Domains of Improvisation Discussion Group\, co-organized by Marc Hannaford and Andrew Goldman\, invites scholars and practitioners from many disciplines to discuss improvisation\, conceived broadly\, in order to better understand the nature of the concept and practice. On April 5\, we invite Chris Stover\, Assistant Professor of Music in Theory & Composition at the New School\, to lead a discussion on Deleuze and the “improvisational moment.” \n\nThis event is free and open to the public. \n\nFor more information\, or to RSVP to join us for dinner after the meeting\, please contact Andrew Goldman (ajg2232@columbia.edu). In case many are interested in coming to dinner\, priority will be given to those who have attended prior meetings. \nThis event is sponsored by the Columbia University Department of Music and the Center of Science and Society. \n
