  1. Cloud computing industry requires both technology infrastructure and expertise.

While the most developed economies – United States, Canada, European Union, Japan, Australia and some others – have the IT infrastructure, data centers and expertise, the developing countries often have the man power and the human resources to support the new globalizing digital economy. This creates the necessity for business organizations from different types of countries and economies to partner in order to create viable economic models.

The interconnection via the Internet of computing systems and technology ecosystems on a global scale creates a connected economies and a totally different social culture. It is very common these days, especially in the European Union one company which delivers digital services in one or more national markets to use cloud hosting services in another country. It is not uncommon for any business to have a corporate IT Infrastructure located in foreign data centers, located hundreds or thousands of miles from their main headquarters. Countries like Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romain and Bulgaria have been growing strong IT service sectors, where a new generations of IT professionals either produce software applications, support technology operations and provide managed services for companies that operate on a global scale.

For countries like United States, leaders in the technology development and IT markets, this model creates significant leverage as the more digital economy advances, the more services and products and services American companies produce and deliver on a global scale. The technology transformation from industrial to post-industrial world creates a win-win scenario for each and every country.

  1. Digital economy creates growth in the developing countries and strengthens their democracies

The new technology jobs create a strong middle class in the developing countries. The new model of Cloud based computing services extends the economic globalization as we know it from the previous two decades and connects the world even further. This lowers the risk of military conflicts or full scale wars. If we look at the recent US-Chinese trade war, we must agree that the “war” is just a way to describe a series of disagreements between the two governments and corporations in both countries. Those disagreements are being resolved through negotiations, without any major conflicts and without any major disruption of the trade relations.

The connected world and the new model of globalized Cloud computing driven digital economy makes less likely of an authoritarian governments to establish in the developing democracies. A huge country like China might have one party political system, but it is a system that incorporates political differences in a very specific way, which is obviously not in conflict with the Chinese history and traditions. At the same time, despite China having one party political system, the Chinese citizens are much more free in the second decade on XXI century after they were before the era of economic globalization.

Today, a certain level of liberalization of the political system and political stability are both essential for any country that wants to grow its economy. Governments around the world are under the pressure from their citizens to adopt liberal political reforms and to transfer more responsibilities to the private sector.

  1. New generations with totally different values emerge

The new middle class consists of young professionals who have globalist values. They want freedom of movement, free trade, human rights and support the open, liberal society. “Open” and “liberal” here must not be considered as terms used in the day to day partisan politics in the United States or in any other countries of the Western Worlds. Economic liberalism is fundamental for the Western society where the governments have as little direct influence on the market as possible. As an economic concept the Liberalism is equally applicable both to the Conservative and Liberal economic agenda in the United States, United Kingdom and in any other Western democracy.

When it is used to describe the state of society the term “open” should be understood as a state of society where individuals are not put under pressure for their religion and their personal views. An “Open” society is the one where there is a freedom of the media, free flow of information and competitive political and economical environment. In the open societies the governments refrain to intervene in the private life of the citizens. So, the todays western democracies are all “Open” and “Liberal”.

The new generations, who are the main force behind the digital economy, are fully capable of bringing together the traditional values of their societies and the values of the global liberal culture. For them preserving their cultural and national identity is not something to be questioned.

The most important result of the global spread of Cloud computing, Internet of Things and connected digital economies is something that we can call “A New Progressive Era”. Once “progressive” used to be considered as a leftist political term. However, the technology revolution has changes the perspective and the traditional political ideology, hopefully for good.
