I am very glad to have stumbled on your site Matt, good to see you are doing well, very well. The irony in this photograph is what makes it very interesting. I liked the post with nostalgic notes, good to have reasons to have nostalgia. As years go by, you will find nostalgia is the reward for getting old(er).
Very nice to hear from you! You actually came up in a conversation I had with a colleague recently who shares your last name. I see you too are still sharing your photography talents with the world with your blog. A pleasure, as always, to hear from you!
Matt, is your friend Irish? I understand Ekin is also an Irish surname. I once got a postcard (before the days of e-mail) asking for my family background to complete her Irish ancestry.
Actually he also from Turkey. I will have to ask him from which region. He does a great deal of programming for us but also teaches at the Borough of Manhattan Community College downtown.
Now, that is a great coincidence. I have heard of “Ekin” last name in Turkey but it is not very common I don’t think. I am from Adana, a southern city.
