Enrollment in our elementary- and intermediate-level courses is reserved for undergraduate and graduate students in the School of International and Public Affairs) who need these courses to fulfill degree requirements.

If spots become available, School of the Arts students must complete the following procedures:

1. If you have not taken the prerequisite at Columbia or Barnard, take the online placement test: click here for instructions for taking the exam
2. Save a screen capture of your results and submit them to your instructor on the first day of class.
3. Keep perfect attendance (no absences) during the Change of Program period.
4. Add your name to the waiting list in SSOL.
