Job Opportunity in Fairfax, VA

The Inova Kellar Center in Fairfax, Virginia (located in Northern Virginia, close to D.C.) is looking to hire 2 full-time clinicians interested in becoming DBT-A therapists. Approximately 50% of the caseload would be DBT adolescents and families, and 50% would be general outpatient. Pay and benefits are competitive for the area. Inova is a fantastic organization to work for, and the organization has been very supportive of efforts to start up a full-fidelity DBT-A program. Participation on the team will include attending the BTech Intensive Training, so significant DBT experience is not a necessary requirement.

CBT Anxiety Skills Study

The University Of Michigan School Of Social Work is collaborating with Binghamton University, and SIMmersion LLC on a study funded through the National Institute of Mental Health to design and validate an automated assessment of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) competence. The goal will be to use such an assessment to help standardize CBT practice in clinics and educational settings. Specifically, we are looking for licensed clinicians, as well as student trainees from diverse cultural backgrounds with a variety of expertise in CBT, from those who primarily use CBT to those who may just dabble in CBT. A range of expertise is critical to validating whether the automated tool actually works.
To ensure that the automated tool actually works across different levels of experience as well as different cultural backgrounds, we are seeking clinicians and trainees with various levels of expertise and cultural identities, including but not limited to age, ethnicity, race, class, gender identity or expression, physical abilities, sexual orientation/identity, as well as religious status.

Participation in the study is estimated to require 3 hours (study components can be broken up into <1 hour increments). During these sessions you will complete 2 CBT sessions with a computerized client, as well as two surveys about your experience with the tool and your own efficacy of CBT. Upon completion, you will be compensated $125.

If you are interested in participating, follow the below link. Please also feel free to send to anyone else you think may be interested in participating – this includes students and other faculty members.
