DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, April 6th\, 2017 @ 6:30pm \n\n\n\n\nCase Lounge\n\n\nsujatha baliga\, vice president and director of the Restorative Justice Project at Impact Justice\, will lead a discussion of the relationship between mindfulness and restorative justice and offer experiental practices to manage challenging political and personal moments. \nA former victim advocate and public defender in New York and New Mexico\, baliga was awarded a Soros Justice Fellowship in 2008 which she used to launch a pre-charge restorative juvenile diversion program in Alameda County. Through the Restorative Justice Project baliga helps communities implement restorative justice alternatives to juvenile detention and zero-tolerance school discipline policies. baliga is also dedicated to applying restorative justice approaches to ending intrafamilial violence and child sexual abuse. \nThis event is co-sponsored by the State and by the Local Government Club and the Criminal Justice Action Network\, \nLight food will be served at 6:15pm before the event begins at 6:30pm. \nPlease RSVP via this form.
