Love Singing? Then Join Collegium Musicum!
Dear all,
Welcome back for the Spring semester! We would like to inform you about the opening singer positions in our group, Collegium Musicum. Collegium is one of Columbia University’s leading choral ensembles that has been a part of University life since the mid-1950s. We are looking forward to start working on a very exciting repertoire, including the works by Compere, Josquin Desprez, Bach, Ligeti, as well as many others.
This wonderful musical community is a place for the musicians and musicologists to meet for experiencing the enjoyment of highest music making and the pleasure of exploring the performance practice techniques and improvisation. You can learn more about Collegium Musicum by visiting our website at:

We are happy to announce the auditions for Collegium Musicum, taking place during the following times:
Thursday, January 24th: between 7:30pm and 9:30pm
Friday, January 25th: between 7:30pm and 9:30pm
Both auditions will be held in Dodge Hall, room 404 (4th floor).
This informal, 10-minute long audition will consist of vocal evaluation, sight-singing and an informal interview. Decisions regarding membership are made within the context of the ensemble’s current personnel needs as well as the musician’s ability to the median technical level of the ensemble. While reading music is an essential requirement, different types of musical experiences are always a plus.
Collegium Musicum rehearses on Monday and Wednesday evenings, between 7:30pm and 9:30pm. We also would like to inform you that Collegium Musicum is offered as one-point credit course by the Department of Music.
If you would like to attend these auditions, either email me at [email protected], or sign up for an audition time on the door Music Performance Program office (next to Dodge room 620 – 6th floor). Also, if you cannot make these audition times but still interested in joining Collegium, please send an email.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Mahir Cetiz
