Objectives
The 5th edition of the Accelerated Carbonation for Environmental and Material Engineering (ACEME) Conferences builds upon the successful previous editions: London (UK) in June 2006, Rome (Italy) in October 2008, Turku (Finland) in November 2010, and Leuven (Belgium) in April 2013. The ACEME conferences aim at promoting research and development activities on accelerated carbonation at an international level, favoring the share of knowledge on the title subject and critically discussing future development and implementation in the field.
The objectives of the fifth edition of this conference series is to communicate and discuss the latest advances in the field of theoretical and applied research on accelerated carbonation of various types of natural materials and industrial residues. Processing conditions, product properties and (on-line) analysis at lab, pilot and full scale are the key focus themes of the conference. The conference also aims at promoting mineral carbonation in the context of carbon capture and storage (CCS).
To that end, experts from research institutions and from industry are invited to present their findings. Also representatives from authorities (e.g. EPA, DOE, EU) and civil society are invited. Ample time will be provided for discussion between the different actors in this field, resulting in a vibrant multidisciplinary meeting.
