Each spring, TASA hosts a political panel that strives to discuss political issues pertinent to Taiwan, such as its relations to the US and China both in the past and in the present. Previously, we have invited speakers to share their perspectives, but more recently the panel has been student-led by our Political Panel chairs. After a brief presentation of the political topics at hand, there is a follow-up discussion with all attendees. The goal of the Political Panel is to talk about Taiwanese political issues and its nuances from multiple perspectives to better understand Taiwan. Moreover, these discussions will widen our thinking about far-reaching political questions that matter in our lives.
