Delicious Movement Workshop in Tokyo (2017)

In summer 2017, Eiko Otake returned to the University of Tokyo, where she spent may days of her youth as an activist, to conduct a 3-day intensive Delicious Movement workshop at Tokyo University’s Komaba campus. The workshop included movement exploration, reading, writing, guest lectures, discussions, drawing, and a performance. The event was organized by Kotaro Aoki, a recent graduate of Wesleyan University, where he was Eiko Otake’s student. The workshop dealt with both “history” and the “now,” focused on the University of Tokyo as a place, as well as on the writings of Kyoko Hayashi, Nagasaki Atomic Bomb survivor writer who recently passed away.
