Ruoxin Xu is a playwright from Nanjing, China. In 2014, her play The Great Scott was produced by Nine Theatre in Beijing. In 2015, her play The Hat Trick was performed at Baoli Theatre in Beijing and toured several universities across Beijing during 2016. Her current work focuses on cultural conflict and discovery of poetry in normal life. She also writes films. Her film script Present and Then got the first place award in the Support New Works Plan from State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of The People’s Republic of China. Ruoxin holds a B.A. In Dramatic Literature from Central Academy of Drama, China. She is now pursuing her MFA in Playwriting at Columbia University and trying to become a bilingual playwright.
