Paola Alexandra Soto

PAOLA ALEXANDRA SOTO was born in the Dominican Republic and grew-up in Harlem. She has been acting, writing, and producing theater in New York City for more than ten years. Most recently her ten-minute play Without Hope, based on the Frida Kahlo painting of the same name, was performed as part of an immersive theatrical experience at Governor’s Island. Other writing credits include: the full-length play La Sosa Sisters and the one-acts Tainted Lives and Quisqueya Heights. She has contributed to and performed in an adaptation of Two Noble Brothers produced by Cornerstone Theater Company and the original full-length play Don’t See My Bones and Think I’m Dead; which was also a documentary on PBS. Acting credits include: A Midsummer Night’s DreamAntigone, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s NestOthello, and the original production of Raksha’s Child. Paola Alexandra has a B.A. in Creative Writing from CCNY where she won the Jacob Weiser Playwriting Award for her one-act On the 1 Train.
