Marianna Staroselsky


Marianna Staroselsky studies and makes art about identity and the strangeness of being a person in modern day America and beyond. She has been writing in most genres, starting with poetry, since she was a child. She wrote and produced her first full-length play, “Cry Baby Meets Audrey Hepburn,” based on her emigration from the Former Soviet Union, with 20% Theatre Company in Chicago to sold out audiences in 2016. She has worked with Athena Theatre Company, Stockyards Theatre Company, The New Colony, and Lama Theatre Company. She is a Doctoral Candidate in Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago and an MFA Candidate in Playwriting at Columbia University.
