Andy Boyd is a playwright from Phoenix, Arizona currently based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. His plays include Acres of Diamonds (Phyllis Anderson Prize), She Shall Be Praised (Rhode Island State Council for the Arts Grant Recipient), Bitch: A Play About Antigone (Capital Fringe Festival), and Os Confederados. He is a third-year MFA Candidate at Columbia University. Prior to coming to Columbia, Andy served with City Year Rhode Island and earned a BA in American History and Literature from Harvard College (Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude). He is an Eagle Scout from Troop 248 and a member of All Saints’ Park Slope and The Democratic Socialists of America, South Brooklyn branch. He is currently working on a play about the creation of Diego Rivera’s Detroit industry murals in the context of the tumultuous labor battles of the Great Depression.
