Andy Boyd is a playwright currently based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. His recent work deals with questions of historical memory, particularly with how questions of historical interpretation can reverberate into the current social and political world. In addition to writing plays, Andy is interested in storytelling forms such as songwriting, solo performance, and podcasts. His music project Andy the Giant can be found on Bandcamp, and his podcast Sunset Park Stories can be found on iTunes. Prior to attending Columbia, Andy studied American History and Literature at Harvard and Theatre at Arizona School for the Arts. His plays have been developed or produced at New York Fringe Festival, Capital Fringe Festival, Providence Fringe Festival, Out Loud Theatre, Epic Theatre Company, Naked Theatre Company, Contemporary Theatre of Rhode Island, Marquette University, Harvard University, Community College of Rhode Island, and the Trunk Space. He is a recipient of a playwriting grant from the Rhode Island State Council for the Arts and of the Phyllis Anderson Prize, presented annually by the American Repertory Theatre.
