Satisfaction Guaranteed

Handsome Business Man at Office

After blowing past our $250 million goal this past December, I know we are set for more One Columbia successes in 2015. We are meeting our goals because employee satisfaction continues to soar!

One of our top One Columbia priorities this year is to be an “employer of choice” — a quality measured by the percentage of employees who would recommend working in alumni relations and development at Columbia to friends and family. In the past few years, employee satisfaction here has exceeded that national average, with a majority of staff giving us a thumbs-up. This year, we aim to continue this trend.

We’ll have a chance to get together as a community at the all-staff meeting on February 26 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Do you remember our exciting, new-and-improved retreat in July? We’ll be taking a deeper dive into some of the topics you raised then.

Once again, the Culture Core and Talent Management will present The Art of Perception. The program was originally developed to help emergency room doctors better evaluate patients under stressful circumstances and is now used to teach people, including NYPD detectives and Navy Seals, how to be more observant and detail-focused. We are running the session on April 9 (register here) and have plans to bring the program to CUMC soon.

Throughout the year, we will continue to bring you programming focused on personal and professional development because employers of choice are invested in their staff. We look forward to seeing you at these opportunities for enrichment.
