Varun Char | President
Varun Char is a junior at Columbia College majoring in Political Science-Economics and minoring in French. He is from the Chicagoland area. This past summer he interned at NY State Assemblymember Rosenthal’s Office. After graduating he hopes to pursue an career in consulting. Outside of MBA, Varun volunteers to teach public speaking to inner city kids with Youth for Debate and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review. Varun also enjoys learning other languages and history. This is Varun’s second year on the MBA Executive Board.
Andrew Ren | External Vice President
Andrew Ren is a sophomore at Columbia College studying Financial Economics and Computer Science. Hailing from Long Island, his professional interests lie in finance, although he does enjoy the occasional programming project. Andrew is working for BTG Pactual’s Global Emerging Markets Hedge Fund. Outside of MBA, Andrew is a Resident Advisor in John Jay and is a volunteer at Community Impact. Andrew loves beat-boxing, running, and exploring Manhattan eateries.
Natasha Bhatia | Internal Vice President
Natasha Bhatia is a junior in Columbia College majoring in Economics from Dallas. She is currently interested in economic research and hopes to pursue a doctorate in Economics after graduation. This past summer she was an intern for Trive Capital, a middle market private equity firm in Dallas, and the summer before she interned for Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. Outside of MBA, she is the Vice President of Columbia Pre-Law Society and a volunteer piano teacher for Columbia Music Mentors. In New York, she enjoys exploring her passion for classical music, training as a Western classical Soprano with her vocal coach and performing on campus. This is Natasha’s second year on the MBA board.
Neil Parekh | Treasurer
Neil Parekh is a sophomore at Columbia College majoring in Financial Economics with a minor in Business Management. Raised in Singapore and Connecticut, Neil spent his high school years in Singapore. His professional interests lie in investing, both of the private and the public nature. This past summer he interned in equity research at CLSA, a research focused equity brokerage firm. He also spent six weeks as an intern at Everstone Capital, a $1.5 billion India focused private equity fund started by two former Goldman Sachs partners. Outside of MBA, Neil is a board member of the Columbia Organization of Rising Entrepreneurs. Neil is a longtime fan of the New York Giants and enjoys going to concerts around the city.
Marissa Gross | Secretary
Marissa Gross in a sophomore in Columbia College majoring in History and minoring in Art History and Business Management. She was born and raised in Miami, FL. Her professional interest lie in Consulting, Private Banking, Real Estate finance, and in the Art Market. She hopes to pursue a career that fuses her love of travel with either private wealth management, real estate finance, asset management, or art consulting. Her previous professional interests include interning at an asset management firm in Miami, FL, working as a marketing specialist for Broward Tutorial, an SAT prep company located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and acting as the Vice President of the Honey Project, an international corporation that deals with the sales and marketing of Ghanian products. Outside of MBA, Marissa is a member of Smart Women Securities Chapter at Columbia University and a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity. Marissa enjoys exploring New York City’s various neighborhoods and locating all the new restaurants, events, and exhibitions that keep opening in the City. This is Marissa’s first year on the MBA board.
