Once auditions are over, you will find information here about groups and rehearsal times. It is the same audition for ensembles and lessons placement.
CU Jazz Auditions Fall 2012
Directed by Professor Chris Washburne, the Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program offers both undergraduate and graduate students jazz performance opportunities and private lessons. The Jazz Performance Program Ensembles include the CU Big Band led by Don Sickler, Brazilian music with Adriano Santos, Ole Mathisen’s Free Jazz ensemble, jazz vocal ensembles taught by Christine Correa, and intermediate to advanced-level combos led by various instructors. All ensembles perform at an intermediate level or higher and require some past jazz experience.
Auditions for the Jazz Performance Program are held in the Fall semester only. Be sure to sign up for a time slot ahead of time at 618 Dodge Hall. You must participate in a jazz ensemble in order to be considered for private lessons. Do not register until you have received confirmation of placement. ALL AUDITIONS TAKE PLACE IN 112 DODGE.
