About ISAC

Namaste! You have reached the official home page of The Indian Student Association at Columbia University (ISAC). We are a student run organization under the Graduate Student Advisory Council which is part of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Columbia University in New York City.

The ISAC is open to all Columbia University graduate and undergraduate students, alumni, staff, and faculty. We aim to create a social network of graduate students and promote awareness of the Indian culture amongst our members and the CU community. We work with other student groups at CU to organize and participate in various social, cultural and sports activities. Our goal is also to provide incoming Indian graduate students and other international graduate students with the know-how of grad life at CU. Several of our members are active volunteers/coordinators in social service organizations such as ASHA for education and AID. These are directed to catalyze socio-economic change in India through education and to promote sustainable, equitable and just development. ISAC also works with other organization on and off-campus to help with disaster relief efforts.
