We are pleased to welcome invited speaker, Professor Micheal Veal, Professor of Music, African American Studies, and American Studies at Yale.

Michael E. Veal is Professor of Ethnomusicology at Yale University. He is the author of several books including Fela: The Life & Times of an African Musical Icon (2000) and Dub: Soundscapes and Shattered Songs in Jamaican Reggae (2007). He is also an electric bassist and soprano saxophonist, and leader of the Afrobeat big band Michael Veal & Aqua Ife.
