MAIN CURRENT PROJECTS

1) Electrocatalytic conversion of CO2 to fuels using earth-abundant and not-toxic materials. Conversion of CO2 to valuable chemicals is a nascent technology which will help move society to a cleaner energy future and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. This research is supported by NSF grant #1336845, where I am co-PI.

 2) Polymer-inorganic hybrids as sustainable solutions for reuse of waste water. This project, which I am leading, focuses on the development of new multifunctional sorbents for recycling and desalination of water. This problem is critical for water, energy, and food security, competitiveness in manufacturing, health and environmental well-being. This project is funded by a NSF supported Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Particulate and Surfactant Systems (CPaSS).
