Our objective for the event, Orientación para familias en español:Lo que significa ser estudiante de Columbia College, is to assist Latino families in understanding student life at Columbia, including the requirements of the Core Curriculum and administrative resources available to students and parents. We hope that this event will be informative and help families remain  involved in their child’s education and experience at Columbia. In this way, Latino Columbia College students can develop their support networks both at Columbia and within their own families at home.

Program Overview: 

  • Introductory Remarks by Walter Rodriguez, Associate Dean of Office of Student Groups Advising,
  • Discussion on Administrative Resources by Dean of Community Development and Multicultural Affairs, Terry Martinez and Admissions Officer, Angela Velez.
  • Alumni Panel featuring alumna, Dalinez Martinez
  • Core Curriculum Presentation by Professor Roosevelt Montás, Director of Center for Core Curriculum
