Completely Removing Microsoft Office 2013 and 2016 from Windows

Frequently on new computers, particularly the standard builds from Dell, windows comes with a Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016 trial pre-installed. This is either a fully installed 30-day trial, or an installer that comes in three languages – English, Spanish, and French. Uninstalling them individually from the control panel’s “Add and Remove Programs” window does not always get rid of everything Office related, as when you install the CUIT version, there is often a “Try, Buy, Activate” pop up, and activating using the CUIT instructions does not work either.

The solution to uninstall all traces of Microsoft Office 2013/2016 is to use the Microsoft tool, available for download here.
