Delta Gammas are committed to providing service to those who need it. Service for Sight has been at the heart of Delta Gamma’s philanthropic mission since 1936. The Delta Gamma Foundation has given over $2,700,000 in Service for Sight grants to organizations and schools that share the Foundation’s mission: to promote sight preservation and assistance to the 15 million children and adults who are blind or visually impaired.
Delta Gamma’s motto, “Do Good,” captures each sister’s commitment to bettering her community and is reflected in each sister’s continued service even after graduation. The New York Alumnae chapter is one of the nation’s top ten alumnae fundraising groups for DG’s philanthropy!
As a chapter, we donate funds, glasses, and books to programs that aid those who suffer from blindness and other visual impairments. Through fundraisers and other activities, we work hard to raise money for Service for Sight and are proud of our efforts to continuously push our membership to exceed fundraising and service commitment goals.
Our recent/upcoming fundraisers include:
Every fall, Zeta Theta throws an Anchor Splash where Columbia men from our Panhellenic fraternities and Varsity teams take part in a synchronized swimming competition. This event is definitely not one to miss. Last year we raised over $6,000 for our philanthropy! Look out for more info on Anchor Splash 2014.
Each spring we hold a bake sale with proceeds going to Service for Sight.
In May, Zeta Theta hosted our first annual Delta Glam fashion show in conjunction with LF stores to benefit Service for Sight.
