The total cost of participating in COÖP is $400. There is no additional cost for canoe rentals, or for early move-in housing. Students are expected to purchase/bring most of their personal gear; a list of packing materials has been provided for each program: hiking (HOP), biking (BOP), and river canoeing (ROP). We rent frame packs (for HOP) for $15, bikes (for BOP) for $15, dry bags (for ROP) for $15 and sleeping bags (for all programs) for $15 during the move-in process on August 20th, 2014. Please bring cash for rental, unless you have paid in advance.
Qualification for financial aid is determined on an as-needed basis. The deadline for financial aid registration is June 6th, 2014, two days after the COÖP application deadline of June 4th. On your application, you will have an opportunity to briefly describe your request. COÖP will base its financial aid decision on the information you submit as well as input from the Office of Financial Aid. Some 90 percent of those who request aid get some help, though few full scholarships are awarded. Do not send a check – we’ll get back to you as soon as we can regarding the amount of financial assistance, if any, that we can provide. All financial and personal information is confidential and will only be reviewed by the COÖP staff, with assistance of the Office of Financial Aid. Offers will be sent by June 11th, 2014, and we will ask that those who have been awarded financial aid let us know whether they are accepting a spot in the program by June 18th, 2014. Any outstanding registration balance must be received by June 25th, 2014. Deposits confirming your spot on COÖP, made in any payment method, are non-refundable. Please contact COÖP if you have any questions about this process at firstname.lastname@example.org.
