Influence of Income on intended primary vote
Influence of Income on intended primary vote
Description
This project examines the influence of income on one’s intended primary vote across states. It uses the Annenberg National Election Study rolling cross-sectional surveys conducted during the 2000 and 2004 primary seasons, and employs hierarchical modeling techniques. Early findings indicate a relationship between state-level income and intended vote for less established candidates. During the 2004 Democratic primaries, Dean attracted the higher income individuals in wealthy costal states and Gephardt the same in interior states.
